Mercury SiteImaginative Sculpture:Sphere is 1/2 polished black granite and 1/2 cast bronze. Surface texture of bronze is based on planet as currently photographed and mapped. Eighteen inches diameter. Appearance is reflective of its known and unknown portions. Base is a Canadian white boulder with black (nickel) veins. Approximate height with sphere is 4 feet 6 inches. Sphere is fixed to boulder base. Base is attached to footing at ground. Planet Model: Pre-cast, uniquely finished concrete. Informational insets and title plaque in stainless steel, copper or brass, with etched enamel infill. Unique planet orbital disk depicting the equatorial plane and the scale model planet on the angle of its polar axis.
